If you have any questions regarding 4PSA products send an email to sales.
VoipNow Automation

Q: When are you going to release VoipNow Automation final version?
A: We will release the final version of VoipNow Automation when it will be ready for production usage. According to our internal data, this will happen in Q1 2010.

OXtender

Q: How can I download OXtender for Plesk?
A: OXtender for Plesk can be downloaded by registered customers from Customers Area. The product is available in RPM format (for RPM capable Linux distributions) and shell installer for FreeBSD, Debian and Ubuntu.

Q: Why a flat licensing for 4PSA OXtender for Plesk?
A: Together with Open-Xchange we offer a flat, per month license for OXtender. The OXtender for Plesk includes the Open-Xchange server licenses. This allows Plesk administrators to add Open-Xchange to their existing Plesk infrastructure in several minutes. OXtender can still be used with Open-Xchange centric licensing. In this case the price of the product is lower because it does not includes the OX seat licenses.

Q: Can I buy 4PSA OXtender for Plesk without the Open-Xchange licensing included?
A: Open-Xchange can be licensed on the OX server level as well (server centric licensing). In this case the price of the 4PSA OXtender is significantly lower, as it does not include the OX licensing anymore. The product can be purchased from online store.

Q: Which are the limitations of the OXtender for Plesk?
A: When used in flat licensing, OXtender for Plesk flat licenses are limited to up to 50 groupware accounts for Plesk 10 domains licenses, up to 150 groupware accounts for Plesk 100 domains licenses and up to 250 groupware accounts for Plesk unlimited licenses. This licensing model is available for servers having no more than 2,000 mailbox accounts in Parallels Plesk Panel. If you have more than 2,000 mailbox accounts, you must use the Open-Xchange server centric licensing. For more details please contact sales.

Q: Can I use OXtender for Plesk in all Plesk hosting environments?
A: OXtender for Plesk can be used in any hosting environment as long as there is a centralized administration authority managing all hosting servers. This happens because OXtender can connect to the Open-Xchange infrastructure using a single set of credentials. Usually this does not work for dedicated hosting, because you do not want to share the Open-Xchange administrator password with your customers. OXtender for Plesk can be used with shared hosting servers in most cases. This limitation is going to be addressed in Q2 2010.

Q: What is the 4PSA Advanced Statistics compatibility?
A: 4PSA Advanced Statistics is designed to run under Plesk 9.x, Plesk 8.x, Plesk 7.5 Reloaded, Plesk 7.1 Reloaded, Plesk 7, and Plesk 6 for Linux/Unix. Plesk for Windows is currently not supported.

Q: Why is 4PSA Advanced Statistics much better than Webalizer?
A: There are many reasons. First, the number of analyzed parameters is much higher for 4PSA Advanced Statistics. Some reports in Webalizer are buggy or simply useless. The 4PSA Advanced Statistics interface is much more appealing and can be presented in over thirty-five languages.

Q: Wait... Can I really export these statistics in PDF format?
A: Yes, 4PSA Advanced Statistics can do this for you automatically. This feature is extremely useful for marketing people, for printing and presentations. Large PDF files are ready for download and can be sent by email every month.

Q: How fast is 4PSA Advanced Statistics?

Q: Can I allow only some of my clients to use 4PSA Advanced Statistics?
A: Of course. You can assign access permissions to particular clients and/or domain users, so you can even charge them to use 4PSA Advanced Statistics.

Q: How can I be sure that my website statistics are private?
A: You can protect your statistics directories with passwords, so only you will have access to them.

Q: Does 4PSA Qmail Manager have any limits regarding the maximum size of the Qmail queue it can handle?
A: 4PSA Qmail Manager was tested with qmail queues larger than 20,000 emails. Technically the limitation is much higher, but the processing time increases.

Q: How can 4PSA Qmail Manager optimize the Qmail settings?
A: With 4PSA Qmail Manager you can modify the most important qmail control files in the web interface. This will increase the qmail server's reliability and performance.

Q: How can I control the Qmail queue using 4PSA Qmail Manager?
A: 4PSA Qmail Manager allows you to search the Qmail queue, view messages in the queue, and delete them. Using 4PSA Qmail Manager you can track messages in seconds. What is sent or received by your server is no longer a mystery.

4PSA VoipNow

Q: What are the differences between 4PSA VoipNow Express and 4PSA VoipNow Professional?
A: 4PSA VoipNow Express is a free, scaled down edition targeted to small organizations, enthusiasts and residential users that provides ten phone extensions. 4PSA VoipNow Professional does not have any user limitation.

Q: How fast can I deploy 4PSA VoipNow Professional?
A: Administrator's perspective:
The product can be installed in less than 20 minutes, the process is mostly automatic due to the installer that resolves operating system dependencies, downloads the latest version of the product, and installs it. A new user following the 'Getting Started Guide' can make a phone call in less than 45 minutes after the login to the online interface. An average user can do this in less than 20 minutes. With all the settings, charging plans, time intervals, channels etc., the system can be deployed for production in less than two hours.

User's perspective:
The average 4PSA VoipNow Professional user can make a phone call in less than 15 minutes after he gets the 4PSA VoipNow Professional account.

Q: How different is VoIP hosting from domain hosting?
A: That’s the 4PSA VoipNow Professional beauty. Rack-Soft has an extensive experience in designing and implementing domain and/or server control systems for HSP and ISP. With 4PSA VoipNow Professional, Rack-Soft tried to bring VoIP hosting as close as possible to domain hosting. There are many reasons behind this decision:

- The SIP protocol used in VoIP communication looks very much like the http protocol. For technicians and engineers it’s a real pleasure to learn new things while taking advantage of their knowledge.
- The hosted VoIP services are new, hard to sell and penetrate, while the domain hosting is mature. Due to the similarities between 4PSA VoipNow Professional and a generic hosting control panel, the provider will be able to promote the VoIP services much easier.

Q: How can I connect my 4PSA VoipNow Professional server to the PSTN network?
A: All you have to do is connect your server to a SIP provider. This can be done using a channel in 4PSA VoipNow Professional. There are many SIP providers you can use. Many of them offer good rates for all destinations in the world, while others are specialized and offer call termination to selected areas. No matter if you use one or more providers, the 4PSA VoipNow Professional call routing features will help you select the best route. A provider will also be able to offer you public phone numbers. These phone numbers can be associated with local extensions in 4PSA VoipNow Professional, which means that you will be able to call extensions over the traditional PSTN network.

Q: I plan to integrate 4PSA VoipNow Professional with a third party application. Is it possible?
A: You can integrate 4PSA VoipNow Professional with a third party application using the 4PSA VoipNow SOAP API. If you want to find out more about the 4PSA VoipNow Professional API, check the online documentation.

Q: I plan to grow. What support does 4PSA VoipNow Professional offer?
A: Currently, 4PSA VoipNow Professional servers can be interconnected using peer channels. Bothe High Availability and clustering support are available.

Q: Do you offer an ISO image for download?
A: Yes, the image is based on CentOS 5.3 operating system and is available here.

Q: What hardware do I need to use 4PSA VoipNow Professional?
A: You need a server connected to the Internet. The minimum specifications of this server depend on how many extensions you want to use and can be found in the 4PSA VoipNow Professional Requirements and Specifications. For less than two hundreds extensions, you can start with a low-end server.
In order to connect to the public phone network, you do not need any hardware interface (although you can use one). All you have to do is connect to a provider that can give you public phone numbers and can forward your calls to PSTN. If you need a provider recommendation, your 4PSA account manager can help you.

Q: What do I need in order to start a hosted VoIP business?
A: We suggest you to read the following white paper, which describes everything you need in order to start a VoIP business. The next step is to read the 4PSA VoipNow Business Cases, a document that can give you some business ideas and tells you how to deploy 4PSA VoipNow Professional in various environments.

Q: Does 4PSA VoipNow Professional support IVR (Interactive Voice Response)?
A: 4PSA VoipNow Professional includes a fully-featured IVR designer and advanced management tools. The IVR support allows telephony customers to design complex auto attendants in several minutes using a web based interface. The IVR implementation is based on an interface that support plug-ins, allowing Rack-Soft to add more actions to the IVR designer based on customer's requests.

Q: Does 4PSA VoipNow Professional support fax services?
A: 4PSA VoipNow Professional implements full T.38 support. You can use a T.38 compliant fax machine and a T.38 channel provider. 4PSA VoipNow Professional allows you to receive faxes even if a fax machine is not present thanks to the Fax Center function. The Fax Center option can be enabled on any phone extension. Also, any extension on the server can send faxes.

Q: Does 4PSA VoipNow Professional support Parallels Virtuozzo?
A: 4PSA VoipNow is shipped in Virtuozzo templates to simplify the software management and to improve the resources utilization on Virtuozzo hardware nodes. The Virtuozzo templates are compatible with Parallels Automation.

Q: Is any license required to use text to speech with 4PSA VoipNow Professional?
A: Yes, you must purchase at least one voice support license and a concurrency support license. The voice support license allows you to use a certain voice (you can check the current list of voices available at http://www.cepstral.com/downloads/) and the concurrency support license allows you to use the licensed voices from multiple call streams. The concurrency license is global (per server) and several bundles are available (for 3, 10 and 20 concurrent calls). Both the voice support and the concurrency support licenses can be purchased from the 4PSA online store.

Q: Do you offer 30 days free evaluation support?
A: Yes, the evaluation support is free. In order to get support, you must register in the 4PSA Help Desk and open a support ticket. When you open the first ticket, the 30 days countdown starts. During the 30 days period you can open an unlimited number of support tickets. After 30 days, in order to receive further support you must purchase a 4PSA VoipNow Professional license, which comes with free SUS support.

Q: Why did you shot a 4PSA VoipNow Professional installation and configuration movie?
A: First, we wanted to see how fast someone with limited computer experience can install and configure 4PSA VoipNow Professional. This was even faster than we thought. Secondly, we wanted to give a nice system demonstration to potential users. They can watch the movie and decide if the software is worth a try. And the third reason is that we are thinking to provide such video demonstrations in the future also, for learning purposes. Please give us some feedback on the forum.

Q: Can 4PSA VoipNow Professional be installed in a High Availability environment?
A: Yes, 4PSA VoipNow Professional can be installed in a High Availability environment. If you want to order a High Availability package, check here, but consider the requirements first.

Q: What VoipNow Professional license should I purchase?
A: An extension in 4PSA VoipNow Professional is an entity used to deliver services. The following types of extensions are implemented:

  • Phone Terminal - used by end-users to connect their SIP phones
  • Queue - delivers call center type services
  • IVR - used to build Interactive Voice Response menus for companies (digital receptionists)
  • Voicemail Center - used to allow users to check their voicemail from public phone numbers
  • Conference - used to allow users from the public phone network to join/create conferences
  • Callback - used to deliver callback services to end-users
  • Calling Card - used to deliver calling card services to end-users
  • The primary parameter that counts in the license is the number of extensions you can have in the system. Additionally, in the Callback extension you can add authorized CallerID numbers and in the Calling Card extension you can add Calling Card codes. The extension limitation on VoipNow Professional licenses also applies for how many CallerID or Calling Cards codes you can add.

For example, if you purchase a 300 extensions license you can have:

  • up to 300 extensions of any type and in any combination
  • up to 300 CallerID numbers on different Callback extensions
  • up to 300 Calling Card codes on different Calling Card extensions
  • Other than the above, there are no other limitations. You can add as many clients and resellers you want.

Q: How can I stay updated with 4PSA VoipNow Professional releases?

    4PSA VoipNow Plesk Module

Q: Can Plesk and VoipNow run on the same server?
A: No, Plesk Panel and VoipNow Professional cannot run on the same machine because VoIP requires different QoS settings. As a result, you have to use a dedicated server or a virtual machine for Plesk and a different one for VoipNow Professional, but you can link these servers together with VoipNow Plesk Module. The free module allows you to offer VoIP services to Plesk Panel users in the easiest way possible. Your customers will be able to manage VoIP services from the Plesk Panel interface without having to login on both Plesk Panel and VoipNow Professional and you will be able to up-sell VoIP services to Plesk customers in the easiest way possible.

Q: What is the 4PSA VoipNow Plesk Module compatibility?
A: VoipNow Plesk Module is designed to under Plesk Panel 8.4 and newer version for Linux/UNIX. Plesk Panel for Windows is currently not supported.

    4PSA VoipNow Ready

Q: Why do you offer VoipNow Ready?
A: The software industry is changing. Our software is traditionally distributed by Internet service providers and we don't plan to change this model with VoipNow Ready. We designed this solution after we got many requests from customers that wanted to receive a complete service, not only to lease a software license.

Q: What version of VoipNow Professional do I get with the hosted service?
A: 4PSA installs VoipNow Professional edition on all hosted servers. The whitebox plans also get the whitebox license add-on, which allows the service customer to hide all 4PSA copyright marks.

Q: Do I get a dedicated server with your hosted plan?
A: You get a virtual machine. We use virtualization because 4PSA VoipNow Professional is heavily optimized for virtual environments.ANother very important reason is that we care for the environment. Using a dedicated server for several hundreds extensions is like driving a dragster to get you to work.

Q: What hardware platform do you use?
A: We use only high performance, very Watt efficient servers like dual Intel Quad core servers from Dell, Supermicro, IBM or Sun.

Q: Where are your servers hosted?
A: Our infrastructure is hosted in US (Washington) and Europe (Netherlands), in top facilities connected to world's leading bandwidth carriers. With over seven years of experience supporting hosting providers and Internet Service Providers, we know how to choose the best partners. Customers can choose the location where they want the service to be hosted (US or Europe).

Q: Is 4PSA VoipNow Ready a managed service?
A: 4PSA provides the software and the hardware to run the software and guarantees an optimum performance. We support questions about the regular utilization of the software, but we will not perform the software configuration. If you want the initial software configuration to be performed by 4PSA, various setup packages are available.

Q: Is there any minimum commitment for this service?
A: No, this is a monthly service; the minimum subscription is for one month. If you want to cancel the service you must do it at least ten days before the anniversary date.

    4PSA VoipNow Desktop

Q: How can I install VoipNow Desktop?
A: Simply download the installer and execute it. During the installation you will be able to choose the components you want installed. No computer restart is necessary.

Q: What is the compatibility of the VoipNow Browser Module?
A: VoipNow Browser module is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Vista. It supports Microsoft Internet Explorer (versions 7.x and 8.x) and Mozilla Firefox (versions 2.x and 3.x).

Q: Can I use the VoipNow Browser Module without 4PSA VoipNow Professional?
A: You can install it, but you won't be able to make it do its job because the browser module connects to a VoipNow Professional server using the Call API functions in order to achieve the telephony functions. It is highly recommended to configure the module to use the same account like the phone on your desk, otherwise you will not be able to answer to your phone calls when you click a phone number on a web page.

Q: Can VoipNow Browser Module find phone numbers in webmail?
A: Of course it can. If you receive an email from someone in your webmail account, the phone number will be replaced with a click2call link. Furthermore, your contacts list will have the phone number replaced with the click2call link. This works with webmail accounts like Gmail, Yahoo etc. and even with proprietary webmail systems.

A: Yes, it can. It does not really matter what you use, SalesForce, SugarCRM, or any other web based software.

Q: I am a provider. Can I give VoipNow Desktop to my customers?
A: Of course you can, this is why the software was written. However, you should not charge anything for the software, because it's forbidden by the licensing agreement. If you are interested in customized versions, just contact sales.
